How much land does the church own in cities?
The bar chart shows the total area owned by all the major churches and religious organizations per city in hectares.
Data for Gothenburg shows the area owned by the Catholic church and Church of Sweden combined. Data for Berlin shows it for religious corporations under public law, most Muslim ones are not included. Data for Warsaw shows it for all registered churches and religious associations, which include almost 200 organizations. Data for Prague shows it for all the 44 churches and religious organizations registered by special law. The percentage of city area was calculated for the following units: the City of Warsaw, the Capital city of Bratislava, the Capital city of Prague, the City-State of Berlin, the City of Gothenburg. The data for Bratislava shows it for all the registered churches and religious organizations.
